Celebrate S’Mores Day with Fun S’More Ideas
Is there anything that says summer and camping quite like s’mores?
There’s just something about sitting around a fire, roasting marshmallows and trying to get them perfectly golden without accidentally setting them on fire. Although, let’s be honest, the burnt ones are my favorite and seriously part of the fun! Hardly anyone I know loves their marshmallows as burnt as I do.
In honor of S’Mores Day, last week AND National Toasted Marshmallow Day, coming up soon, I thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite s’more memories along with a few unique s’more recipes, ingredients and ideas you might want to try yourself.
S’Mores and Family Camping Memories
Some of my favorite s’more memories are from our camping trips with family. Sitting together around the campfire, talking, laughing and making something as simple as a s’more is one of those little things that turns into a special memory. You don’t even have to go camping to enjoy a good s’more.

Sometimes the best part of making s’mores isn’t the dessert at all, it’s who you’re sharing them with. Hunter and Kevin enjoying their s’mores.

Let’s Get Creative With S’Mores
Of course, there’s nothing wrong with the classic combination of graham crackers, chocolate bars and toasted marshmallows. But why stop there?
Try swapping out some of the traditional ingredients and creating your own s’more combinations. A few fun ideas:
- Peanut butter cups instead of regular chocolate
- Fudge Stripes cookies instead of graham crackers (we loved these!)
- Strawberries or banana slices added to your s’more
- Caramel-filled chocolate
- Rice Krispie Treats (we tried these but didn’t love them)
- Different flavored marshmallows
- A drizzle of peanut butter, caramel or chocolate

You could even set up a DIY s’mores bar with several kinds of cookies, chocolates, marshmallows and toppings and let everyone create their own. Don’t forget these quick light fire starters and marshmallow roasting sticks when you go camping.
You Don’t Need to Go Camping to Make S’Mores
No campfire? No problem!
A small kitchen torch can make it easy to toast marshmallows right at home. It’s a fun option when you’re craving a s’more but aren’t planning on building a fire. Adults only please.
We also love the idea of making s’mores outside around a tabletop fire pit like the Solo Stove Mesa XL. For bigger backyard gatherings, the Solo Stove Bonfire or Yukon gives you that wonderful campfire atmosphere without having to leave home.
We love to take our Solo Stove’s (the Mesa and Bonfire) with us camping. They are great. Smokeless and easy to clean.

Make Some S’More Memories
Whether you’re camping, hanging out around the backyard fire pit or making s’mores right in your kitchen, any day is a pretty good excuse to enjoy a sweet treat.
Try one of the fun combinations above, create your own s’more recipe or keep things simple with the classic. I have curated all the S’More goodies you could ever need here. Let me know if I can help you find anything.
Prefer to shop Walmart over Amazon? Here’s a great smore’s kit and a tabletop gift set.
And most importantly, enjoy the people gathered around you.
What’s your perfect s’more? Are you a traditional graham cracker, chocolate and marshmallow person, or do you like to get creative?
