Quit Your Scale Addiction! Daily Weight Fluctuations Are Normal!
If you’re reading this right now, chances are you have a scale addiction, right?
You get on the scale every day to see if there are any changes and if the numbers are good, then you feel great. But when the numbers aren’t good then it’s an entirely different story.
Problem is that most days when you do get on the scales the numbers are not looking good or anywhere near as good as you want them to. Immediately you feel deflated, your self esteem is shot to ruins, you feel fat and ugly, and sometimes it even leads you to an all out binge bender.
I mean…all this effort I put in and no returns! So what’s the point, right?
You’re not alone if you have a scale addiction, many people do. But I can assure you that it’s no way to measure your success in both the short and long term. In fact, in my 6 Week Best You Bootcamp, I get participants to throw away their scales! Crazy right?
Well, it’s not crazy at all and people in the program are getting the best results ever and here’s why.
1. Daily weight fluctuations are normal
Did you know that a woman’s weight fluctuates anywhere between 2-8 (1-4kg) pounds at any given moment?
Now that is an absolutely HUGE fluctuation and it has nothing to do with how much weight you’ve lost or gained. We retain more fluid at various times of the month, we can gain muscle mass and muscle weighs more than fat, and the different types of food we eat can influence our weight 2-3 days later.
Daily weight fluctuations are entirely NORMAL. So if you are reading this right now I want you to stop beating yourself up and feeling deflated when those numbers aren’t the numbers you want to see. In fact I recommend you throw away your scale too ?
2. Let go of the negative and focus on the positive
In my weight loss program, I tell people to throw away their scales and this instantly stops you from focusing on the negative. When you can focus on all of the positive things you’re doing every day and all of the healthy changes you’re applying in your life, then your results become amplified.
3. The right education, motivation and support
It isn’t your fault that you’ve got a scale addiction because no one has probably ever told you that daily weight fluctuations are normal and there are much better ways to measure your success. How about your clothes size, how you feel, measurements, pictures, the sparkle in your eye, and your general outlook on life?
Would you consider these good markers of success?
Well they are! As a result of healthy changes we make in our lives, many good things can occur. All of these things add up to better weight loss results and better overall health too. So when you get the right education and support, you can give up your scales forever and get better results too!
