Avoid Afternoon Slump

Disclosure: This post may contain referral/affiliate links.

It’s Fit and Healthy Friday.

Today’s Tip: Avoid Afternoon Slump

Here are a few ways you can beat the afternoon slump.

1) Get up and move

Taking a quick walk, jogging in place or even jumping rope will help get your heart rate up.

2) Eat a healthy snack

Grab some fruit, veggies, yogurt, string cheese or a healthy energy bar (my favorites are the Larabar and Clif bars).  This should give you a boost and also hold you over until dinner.

3) A quick nap can also help give you a boost

4) Step outside for some fresh air and sunshine

5) Do some stretching exercises to loosen up

You might find that stretching helps to relieve stress too.

What are some of the ways that you avoid afternoon slump?

About 2 hrs after lunch, I eat something with protein and complex carb……..like yogurt and fruit or a slice of bread with pb. It really helps before the major slump strikes. Getting outside with the kids before dinner helps too.

Thanks for the comments, Annette and James.

Miz, I’m more alert when hydrated too. Thanks for the tip.
