It’s time to celebrate American Heart Month. I have included a few things below that you can join in on and some tips on how to keep your heart healthy.
Did you know heart disease is the leading cause of death in men?
Million Hearts is challenging men to take one healthy step this month. And all of us can take part in their Facebook challenge.
Tomorrow, Friday, February 5th is National Wear Red Day.
Why go red? According to Go Red for Women, “heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds.”
Here are 5 tips on how to live a more healthy life:
- Manage Stress
- Exercise
- Make Healthy Food Choices
- Quit Smoking
- Check your cholesterol, blood pressure, etc.
Here are some heart healthy foods to enjoy:
- Fish
- Nuts
- Beans
- Red Wine (yep something about those antioxidants hmm)
- Whole Fruits & Veggies
