I’m feeling a bit defeated today BUT I’m not giving up. As some of you know, I have been dealing with knee pain and it’s just getting worse. I gave up one of three days of Turbo Kick at the gym and have decided now that I must give it up altogether, for now anyway. This decision is very emotional for me because it’s one of my most favorite things to do and burns most of my daily calories. But the pivoting, twisting and all that jazz that comes with kick boxing type workouts can’t be good for my knees. I have tried to modify moves during classes but don’t think that is helping me at all. I’m so sad!
I’m looking for advice on what types of cardio I can do to replace it that won’t be as hard on my knee but still give me the calorie burn I need. I will keep doing Walk Away the Pounds at home and will do Spin classes on the weekends. I have heard that the stationary bike, rowing and weight training might also be good options. And of course swimming is one of the best options but I don’t have access to an indoor pool so I’ll have to scratch that.
I have a message in to a personal trainer that I know and I’ll be talking to the lead PT at our gym to see what she also has to say. And before you say it *wink*, I do know that I need to go to a doc for this however at this time I do not have health insurance. There is a doc friend that might be able to help but I don’t want to count on that. We’ll figure something out.
If you have any tips or words of encouragement, they would be appreciated. Off to make a healthy breakfast. Thanks for ‘listening’.
Make it a great day,
