You have heard me talk a lot about Walk Away the Pounds but there’s a new kid in town. OK not new at all but a crazy popular and a really great workout. You can do it at home or now in some fitness centers and gyms.
Have you ever used a mini trampoline/exercise rebounder?
If not, you should. I have used them for many years and love them.
There are many benefits of mini trampolines/exercise rebounders. They give you a total body workout! You cover all bases such as aerobic/cardio, toning and more. You can lose weight and inches with hardly any stress on your joints.
It’s a low impact workout and great calorie burner too. Whether you are just beginning to workout or are a fitness pro you can use mini trampolines/exercise rebounders. I bet you’ll love it.
The biggest thing I have learned is that it’s so good for lymphatic circulation and helps to rid toxins from your body. Plus it helps the immune and digestive systems AND speeds up your metabolism. Did you also know that drinking water cold can speed up your metabolism? That’s what I hear anyway! Amazing benefits for using a mini trampoline wouldn’t you say?
A mini trampoline is more rigid than your basic outdoor yard trampoline like this one but it’s just as fun! It’s so much better for your joints than running outside or using the treadmill.
So for someone like me, with my leg and foot issue it’s perfect. The rebounder is easy to use, fits in small areas so you don’t need much room and as with any exercise you’ll feel great and be motivated to do more.
Choosing the right Mini Trampoline/Rebounder
As far as getting started with rebounder exercises, you’ll want to first choose a rebounder trampoline that you think will fit your lifestyle best. I personally have the Urban Rebounder but it doesn’t look like it’s in stock on Amazon right now. My other top 3 picks are the following.
When you buy one for yourself, they have kids mini trampolines too so grab one so they can join in on the fun along side you. This one is cute. They have a big variety on Amazon.
Mini Trampoline Workout Ideas
Once you’re ready, you can start trying different moves and workouts. You can usually find a variety of DVD’s that might or might not come with the purchase of your mini trampoline and there are books like this guide and this one as well. I purchased a mini trampoline workout DVD called Keep On Rebounding and love it. There are a variety out there. These are the one’s I am looking to buy.
A Few Mini Trampoline Tips:
What I recommend is testing out the waters on the rebounder for a few days by just doing the basic health bounce where your feet do not come off the rebounder. Then watch some videos to find other moves. I like to walk in place, do leg kicks, and step side to side. I try to always move my arms while doing the mini trampoline workout.
And I personally recommend wearing socks and tennis shoes, not bare feet or just socks. I feel it’s more safe and wearing shoes you are able to protect your ankles and feet better. There are even times in shoes that I lose a bit of balance (maybe it’s just me) but I like to have a solid pair of shoes on my feet should I fall off. If I’m just going to do a soft bounce I might just jump on in bare feet or socks.

Thanks goes to my mom for getting me back on the rebounder this month. She and I are having a daily rebounding challenge. I have always used a rebounder since I started working out and love it. It sure feels great to get back in the home gym even if it is just a little bit every day.
The monthly fitness challenge is going strong and we are having fun. Have you joined us?
Do you have a mini trampoline? Happy bouncing!

Oh my goodness. I’ve never thought of trampolines for serious fitness. Interesting! I could see that being a good supplement to running. It’d probably work muscles that I don’t use when I run. Not to mention that it’d be a lot of fun!

It’s such a good workout and is great for me especially since I have to ease back into things. And yes it’s fun too. Thanks for stopping by!

We used one of these in our homeschool when the kids were little. It’s mostly quiet for a kid to jump, so it doesn’t disrupt the schooling activities. The child who couldn’t sit still would bounce/jump during read-alouds or while practicing spelling words (say a letter with each jump) or math facts. It’s so good for kinesthetic learners.

That is awesome, never thought it could work for kids like that. Great idea! Thanks for stopping by!

I am in the market for a mini-trampoline or rebounder. My kids need them for sensory, but I need it for exercise. It helps keep my blood sugar in range after eating. I had no idea that there were exercise videos for rebounders. Thanks for the great information!

You’re welcome, glad you found it helpful.

I take an exercise class in a trampoline park and this would be a lovely way to attempt to replicate the class at home. I purchased a mini-trampoline, but the cheap kind I bought did not work well at all for the exercises I wanted to do. Thanks for the recommendations, because working out on a trampoline has got to be one of the best cardio workouts ever!
