How was your weekend?
This weekend we were on the go. It all started Friday night when our middle granddaughter and I drove out to meet Kev at his work. After a week or more of researching options for an affordable couch and ottoman for Wilbur’s cat room, we finally found something on Thursday (thank you Value City Furniture) and decided to pick it up Friday night.
In their “scratch & dent” clearance section, Kev came across a piece of a sectional. It was perfect. Thank goodness because I was getting so tired of looking. We bought it Thursday and picked it up Friday night.
We wanted to get it home and in Wilbur’s cat room to see what it looked like and figure out how big of an ottoman to get. Then we were off again on Saturday morning in search of one. We first took our granddaughter to get her physical for the fire department’s explorer program. She did great.
Over the last few days of walking miles and miles it seems to find a couch and ottoman, we got the last piece of the puzzle. We happened upon Big Lots who has now added furniture. They had a nice storage ottoman that was perfect although it didn’t match. After looking around the mall at other options I knew I just wanted to go back and get this one. The last one. Phew!
So here’s the final result.
I think it looks fabulous and it’s a lot more comfy too. I sit in this very room a lot every day. If you haven’t heard or followed the story of our cats, I’ll have to share sometime. But basically, Wilbur doesn’t get along with our other cat, Franklin so he’s confined to his very own room. It was either that or……but it all worked out and they are both still as spoiled as ever.
After we dropped off our granddaughter yesterday, we had to stop at the hardware store for some foaming wasp spray. I really hate to remove the paper wasps nest but it’s dangerous and we have a lot of kids in the neighborhood and ones that wait for the bus next to our tree. Check out this grand design of a wasp nest. What image do you see?
I can’t even imagine how many wasps are in there. I shudder to think. In addition to those we have box elder bugs all around our house on outside screens. These are just annoying. Winter will come soon and they will be gone but until then I’ll just flick them off. I need to get out in the yard and rake all the pine needles that have fallen too from the tree above. We can’t even see the grass in our yard. lol
Anyway, it was a very productive week with tons of walking, lifting, etc. I am so glad we have a new couch and ottoman in Wilbur’s room because the rocker recliner we had in the room was doing a number on my body especially my back. Painful. I needed something more firm that didn’t move. Hopefully this will do the trick. Wilbur already loves both pieces of furniture.
Lastly Kev and I started taking Curcumin (Curamin) today. Have you heard of it?
My mom had recommended it since my dad was going to take it for cancer purposes but supposedly it helps a ton of things like reducing inflammation and much more. I’m reading a Curcumin guide right now and the more I read, the more excited I get.
My friend has been taking it for a bit now and can feel a difference in her body. I sure hope we see the same results and I can only imagine we will after reading all the success stories. I started a journal today to keep track of how I feel as time goes on. We will be taking it 3 times a day (I have already set up my reminder alarms). I’m sure I’ll blog more about it down the road.
Now remember I am no doctor so please do your own research!
How was your weekend? Do tell!
