It’s Friday! Time for your Fit & Healthy Lifestyle Tip.
Today’s Tip: Be cautious of your drink calories
Be cautious of your drink choices. Are you aware of how many calories you are drinking? If not, you might be drinking too many calories. I am always cautious of what I’m drinking because many drinks are high in calories and sugar. Have you ever stopped to look at the labels on some drinks? Next time you’re at the store glance at the labels.
Some items to watch out for:
- Soda (I gave up soda back in May 2005 and it was a great decision. I’m working on hubby now *wink*)
- Sports Drinks
- Beer/Liquor/Cocktails
- Creamers
- Fruit Juice
Another thing you want to be cautious of is the serving size on many bottled drinks. Most of these drinks have TWO servings so be sure to watch for that.
Here are a few good drink choices:
- Water (add lemon, lime or a slice of orange to change it up)
- Tea- hot or iced (use honey or agave nectar for the sweetener)
- Skim, low-fat or soy milk
Are you aware of how many calories you are drinking? What are some of your favorite healthy drinks?

proud to say all of mine are close to calorie free………I only drink water, green tea, herbal teas, and coffee (with a little 1 percent)……….all sugar free. I drink sooooo much water.
I do plan on having some wine on Thanksgiving!
On a normal day, I would rather eat my calories ๐

Great post Angie and great reminder that I so need to get back off the pop habit. I drink so MANY calories in pop it’s not even funny. Actually I don’t even know how many calories I’m drinking in pop but I bet it’s a crazy amount.

Angie,
I mostly drink water or tea, unsweetened, both hot and iced.
I’ll have a very occasional lemonade or diet soda.
