Benefits of Berries

Your Friday Fit & Healthy Lifestyle tip is ready.

Today’s Tip: Benefits of Berries

So many types of berries, so little time.

  • Blueberries
  • Blackberries
  • Raspberries
  • Strawberries
  • Cranberries

and more!

Berries have many wonderful health benefits.  They are a great source of fiber and many contain vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and more.  You should add berries to your diet on a regular basis.  Some are only good in the summer but look in your grocer’s freezer so you can benefit all year round.  The frozen berries are just as good, in my opinion.  I especially like that berries are low calorie and naturally sweet.

I have added berries to smoothies, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit salads and cold cereal.  Yum!

What are your favorite types of berries?  How do you like to eat your berries?

I like them in yogurt or smoothies. I love strawberries. I had to learn to like other berries because of the seeds. Ick. But I eat all kinds now. I also like them in pancakes…mmmmm.

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

Ooh great post! It’s hard to pick a fave, but I’d probably go with strawberries.

    LOL Miz!

Thanks for commenting ladies. I wish I was more fond of strawberries. They go bad quick around here when we buy them, we just can’t get through them fast enough but I do have frozen ones for smoothies.

I would say my favorite is blackberries.

Love fresh ripe strawberries from the field. Plain.

My favorite are fresh blueberries. I enjoy eating them plain. Too bad I can only get them in the summer, but so worth the wait!

Mmmm. I definitely count berries among my “favorite foods” – especially blueberries. I eat those by the handful! 🙂
