I’m back! I haven’t posted a lot lately because I’m catching up on sleep and other stuff around the house and business items that need addressed. As most of you know, I was gone from home for 15 days. First leg of my trip was to spend time helping my stepdaughter after she had major surgery. I flew in to Oklahoma from Chicago and stayed with her for 10 days and then flew to Nashville from there for a business trip that lasted 5 days. Everything was great except I really missed my awesome hubby.
Weight loss and fitness stuff have been on the back burner and I didn’t like that feeling one bit. I did run on the treadmill while at my stepdaughter’s (I would so love a treadmill at home!) and went on a walk in Tennessee that ended in a minor catastrophe. We took my friend’s Great Dane on a walk and he got totally excited and as he tried to pull away I grabbed the leash and well almost lost a finger LOL (not from the dog but from grabbing the leash ouch) It is healing nicely but at the time it was not fun.
Anyway, I am back and in the groove! I didn’t post about my workouts last week which weren’t much but I did get back to spin and on Sunday hubby challenged me. We did 2 spin classes, 30 minutes weights and 20 minutes on the treadmill run/walk. It was a crazy exhausting day but I did burn over 1500 calories. We *might* do that every Sunday but we’ll see what my new personal trainer has to say about that.
Speaking of personal trainers, our gym was offering a dealio on sessions and hubby had me go for it. I’m so excited about this because I have been kind of in a rut and need to get out of it. I mentioned to them that I would like to train with someone who is a professional runner and they think there is a gal who would be the perfect fit. I’ll be meeting with them tomorrow night!
Today I mowed the lawn and it was crazy hard! 1 hour 40 minutes and 1140 calories later I was done. I did take a few water breaks during that time because the grass was so high and thick. We just haven’t had the time to get to it so today I made the time. I didn’t even finish the lawn on the other side of the house. Crazy!
This week I’m working on some personal and business goals and trying to get back into the groove with everything. I’ll keep you updated about the personal training and I need to get back to running on a regular basis. We are already signed up for the December Reggae Marathon 1/2 in Jamaica but will be running a few small races here before that. Going to look to see what’s available in June.
Hope everyone is doing well! I’m off to help hubby make dinner. Oh and it’s been over a month now since I became a flexitarian and it’s going really well. The only meat I have been eating since then is fish.
I have a fun giveaway scheduled for tomorrow so be sure to check back!
Fill me in on your life! I have missed you all.

Hi Angie!
Welcome back! I am glad your finger is healing nicely after the accident with the leash. I guess the dog is pretty hefty.
Are you really going to Jamaica? I feel jealous… Have you ever run half a Marathon before? Go for it Angie!
