Kickboxing rocks my socks off

Disclosure: This post may contain referral/affiliate links.

This week I was able to do one day of my Turbo Jam DVD workout (kickboxing) and I loved it.  But I am torn because my knee was truly hurting afterward so I’m just not sure if it’s something I’m ready to get back to even though it is one of my all time favorite workouts.  We will see!

So here are my workouts for the week.  Not too bad but definitely could be better.

Monday-

*Mowing lawn
Time: 47 min.
Calories burned: 521

Tuesday-

*Turbo Jam Cardio Party
Time: 45 min.
Calories burned: 415

Wednesday-

*Spin class
Time: 1 hr.
Calories burned: 666

Thursday- Day Off

Friday-

*Elliptical
Time: 15 min.
Miles: 1.21
Calories burned: 153

*Personal training (lower body/core)
Time: 30 min.
Calories burned: 203

*Treadmill
Time: 30 min.
Calories burned: 328

I was able to do 5 running intervals today and I did the runs at 1:15.  Shocked!  I can’t wait until I can run for 5 min. straight.  Gotta start kickin it because we are at a little over 6 months until the 1/2 marathon.  For those of you who don’t know I’ll be doing the Reggae Marathon 1/2 in Jamaica this Dec.  I really need to be running at least 4-5 days a week so I’ll have to figure out my schedule.

*Stretching after running
Time: 5-10 min.

And I figure I better stay accountable with my stretching too because I’m really bad at remembering to do it so I need to record it.

Saturday- Day off

Sunday-

*Spin class
Time: 1 hr.
Calories burned: 622

How did your workouts go this past week?

Oh and I accepted a sample pack of the Strawberry Odwalla Protein Monster drink to review and I absolutely loved it.  These drinks have been perfect for before and/or after workouts.  They say the strawberry is a new addition to their line so I checked out their website and they have so many other drinks I want to try not to mention bars.

The Strawberry Protein Monster packs 25g of protein in every bottle and delivers an excellent source of Vitamins B6, B12, Calcium and Zinc!  I can’t wait to try their other products!  Yum!  Thanks Odwalla for the opportunity to sample your awesome product.

Stumbled on your blog from Biz’s 101 challenge! Good luck!

Anyway, I have yet to go to a kickboxing class at my gym. I think I’ll have to take advantage of it. I haven’t ever tried working out at home with a DVD. I don’t know if I could be dedicated enough to it but then again, can’t knock it unless I try it!

I gotta get my hands on this Odwalla protein monster. Sounds yummy and useful!

Welcome Jess! Hope to hear from you when you try out kickboxing. It’s so much fun.

As for Odwalla, I tried the vanilla and it was OK so Strawberry is in the lead. Next I’ll try their chocolate protein monster drink.

Hi Angie! Let’s hope the knee stuff is nothing serious.

I had to give up kettlebell last summer because of my knees. It is a shame because I really enjoyed it!

I decided to participate in Biz 101 Day challenge too, now I just have to get my website up. 🙂

Hey keep it easy, ruin that knee and you’ll be missing everything.
    Good luck with the work-out!
