TRX suspension trainer rocks

Disclosure: This post may contain referral/affiliate links.

Workouts this past week were really good.  I feel strong and I’m looking forward to what August will bring.  I’m hoping to really kick it up a notch next month.  Going on a business trip this week and hope to go with a friend and her daughter to their gym to get some workouts in while I’m away.  So on to my workouts for the week but first……

The TRX Suspension trainer ROCKS! Check it out!

I have definitely put this on my fitness wish list.  Have you ever seen or tried the TRX?

Oh and I had my 2nd weigh in and measurements taken since starting personal training and I have lost more weight AND more inches.  Very excited about that and know that personal training has really made a difference.  So if you have the opportunity to ever work with a personal trainer, I highly recommend it.

OK, on to my workouts…

Monday-

*Treadmill
Time: 15 min.

Today I changed it up a bit because I had an appointment to get weighed and measured but the gym changed things without informing me so I had some extra time and thought I would try to get a bit of running in because I was not going to run after personal training today.  I did two 2 minute running intervals and did OK.

*Personal training (a mix, upper/lower body & abs)
Time: 30 min.

Used the TRX suspension trainer today and it rocked my world.  Must.Have.One!  It was a total sweat fest but it was so much fun.  Gosh I love how my trainer makes every session fun and changes things up so I don’t get bored.  Karen you’re the BEST!

*Mowed lawn
Time: 1.5 hours

Tuesday- Day off

Wednesday-

*Abs
Time: 20 min.

*Spin class
Time: 1 hr

Thursday- Day off

Friday-

*Elliptical
Time: 7 min.
Miles: .60

*Personal training (upper body/core/abs)
Time: 30 min.

*Treadmill
Time: 25 min.
Miles: 1.45

I did 4 two minute run three minute walk intervals.  Not bad but still struggling.  I have to really push it to make it through that 2nd minute.  Less than 5 months until the 1/2 marathon and it’s not looking promising.

Saturday- Day off

Sunday-

*Spin class
Time: 1 hr

*Abs/core work
Time: 20 min.

*Spin class
Time: 1 hr

Yes TWO spin classes today with some ab work in between.  Hubby really lives for these double spin classes and wanted me to go so out of LOVE I did ha ha.  It was great! We took some snacks to consume in between classes and of course we had enough water to get us through.  I’m not sure if this is something I’ll do with him every Sunday BUT I might take a weight/abs class and then a spin class. We’ll see!

How did your workouts go last week and what are your goals for this week?

Hi Angie, you must read my mind. I have never had a chance to use TRX suspension trainer but I have seen videos; it looks like fun. TRX is on my future wish list too, along with clubbells!

    And congrats on your progress.

Satu, I have seen only one video with them using the TRX and I think it would rock. Are club bells the same as kettle bells? I am going to be reviewing a book on kettle bells and although I don’t currently have any I tried them for the first time the other day and it was cool.

Clubbell is not the same as kettlebell; clubbells are basically weighted clubs. They are similar to clubs gymnasts use…

Very interesting! Will have to check it out to see what it’s all about. So much to learn, so little time.

I love TRX! I own one and train my clients with it! It’s so versatile and new! I’d definitely suggest it for home-use if you can make yourself use it (the beauty of a trainer is that they’ll make you actually use it 😉 But definitely a nice investment with little room-space needed!

You are definitely right about the trainer making you use it. I think I would use it more for travel than at home.

I’m so happy for you for losing more weight and inches. That is awesome!

I have not tried TRX but I want to, it looks like an amazing workout.

I first saw it on Real Housewives of OC — 2 of the ladies took a class and it looked really intense.

Melissa, so glad you enjoy working out with a trainer. It’s been one of the best things I have done this year. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Nice to meet you.
