Lightlife Meatless Sausage Review

Disclosure: This post may contain referral/affiliate links.

I was sent a coupon for a free LightLife product. I chose the Lightlife Smart Sausages, Chorizo style, veggie protein sausages to try.  And I was very excited to try them because although I try not to have too much ‘fake’ meat, I still need to get protein so I figured why not try it.  I was also a bit nervous because a very long time ago I tried fake hot dogs and did not like them at all.  I don’t remember the brand or anything but I did not want to revisit that experience.

This experience was much different because I absolutely loved these Light Life Chorizo sausages and will buy the product for sure.  I have purchased a different brand in the mean time and it gives me heart burn and it’s not something I could eat solo like I know I can with the Lightlife meatless sausage. The only problem is that I have to drive to Whole Foods Market which is not that close to get it because they don’t carry it anywhere else near us.

We put the sausages into a cast iron pan with a variety of veggies to cook.  Delicious mushrooms and red peppers!

It was perfect on top of pasta!  With a side of cheesy biscuit bread. Yum!

Have you ever had meatless products (sausage, chicken nuggets, etc.)?

I’ve never tried veggie sausage, I thought it’d be yucky. It sure does look good though, and since you liked it I’m thinking about giving it a try.

I was nervous believe me. My 1st experience with a veggie dog didn’t sit well but this was tasty (or I thought at least). If you try it, let me know what you think. I would use it in a pasta before eating it on it’s own. The Chorizo is spicy though so just an FYI.

Totally on the look out for these now. I have used the tofu noodles (AWESOME!) but not meat products. However, even though I’m in the Seattle area, I’m at least 45 minutes from whole foods 🙁 Our grocers carry random products and hubby wants to try these too. We want the flavor without the grease.
