I’m back from vacation. Well, I have been back since last Saturday and have had a hard time getting back into the swing of things. I was not happy with myself for how I let myself go on vacation. Went to my parent’s and ate, ate and ate some more. Totally felt like I sabotaged myself and fell back in to old patterns. Thankfully I am able to move past it but it’s not easy that is for sure.
I didn’t keep a food journal while I was there, I ate REALLY BAD foods, no portion control whatsoever and I didn’t exercise much at all. I did mow a fenced in portion of my parent’s property and burned a lot of calories doing that, we took walks, up and down hills which was great but no formal in-home workouts as I had planned to do. I even brought two exercise dvd’s but didn’t take them out at all. I did bring my resistance bands/tube and I did use that a few days. I have still not stepped on the scale since returning and am very afraid to do so because I have a bad feeling I gained quite a bit. Since we have been back I have exercised 3 days so far but it will be 5 days of exercise if I make it to the gym both tomorrow and Sunday. So that is pretty good right?
I look forward to getting back into the swing of things as far as healthy eating and exercise. I am going to give myself a 5 day challenge starting Monday so be on the lookout for that post so you can be sure to join in too.
I tell ya, changing your lifestyle is an ongoing challenge itself. So many hurdles to jump and old patterns to break. It’s not easy that is for sure but so far it has been worth it. All I can say is just keep going. If you slip a little (or a lot LOL) like I have, don’t look back, just ahead. We CAN and WILL do this.
