Have you ever been on a cruise?
Kev and I are eager to take a cruise one day. Originally we were against it for the simple fact that Kev gets seasick however after our day cruise to St. John from St. Thomas aboard a sailboat we thought differently.
You would think he would be so sick from being on a small sailboat that was swaying to and fro and hopping over waves. But it was actually me who had a bit of nausea during the excursion however neither one of us ever got sick. So I don’t think we have anything to worry about when it comes to a cruise.
Believe it or not there are only two things I worry about:
1) Internet connection
I hear it’s very expensive to connect so I might as well leave my iPhone off the entire time and forget about getting any work done. I don’t assume ships have free wifi do they?
2) Sickness
Being around so many people in such a confined place worries me just a little. Are there precautions you can take?
As you can tell, I’m as green as they come when it comes to cruising and have so many questions.
Things I wonder:
- How to pick the cruise that is just right for us. Are there adult only cruises?
- How to find the best specials (we will definitely use our travel agent to help guide us through this new uncharted territory)
- Do you tip?
- How much luggage can you take?
- How do you chose the best activities/excursions?
The thing I do know is that we would definitely buy travel insurance as we do for all of our Caribbean vacations.
Is a cruise right for us?
I truly question if a cruise is right for us since we love the all inclusive options so much. Please do hop on here and give us the low down on cruises from the negative to the positive and everything in between.
What is your favorite cruise line?
P.S. If you have a travel blog and would like to submit a guest post here about cruising on any of the above topics, we would be happy to chat.
P.S.S. Here is a Carnival Cruise deal that ends May 11, 2012
Summer Sail:50% off a four-day Carnival cruise, plus a two-night hotel stay

Internet is a big one! DONT bring your phone! We did on our last cruise and did not realize we had to turn off roaming….end result….a bill that was over a couple of hundred dollars!
