There have been a few questions about what type of snacks I eat throughout the day and I thought I would share a sample list of healthy snacks with you. I’m quite amazed looking at this list because 4 years ago healthy snacks was not in my vocabulary.
Today’s Tip: Recommended list of healthy snacks
1) String Cheese
2) Veggies & hummus
3) Yogurt (my favorite is Chobani Greek Yogurt)
4) Energy bar (Clif, Larabar, etc.)
5) Fruit
6) Cottage cheese
7) Nuts (be cautious not to over do it with these)
8 ) Whole Grain crackers
9) Slice of toast with peanut/almond butter
10) Applesauce (I eat the Mott’s Natural, unsweetened)
Here are some links that might be helpful when trying to make your own list of healthy snacks.

Do you have a recommended list of healthy snacks? I would love to change things up a bit around here and add new variety to my snack time.

all of those are on my list too! I would add a protein shake to my list too on the days I need an extra kick 🙂

Great list! I like to snack on 100 calorie bags of microwave with a string cheese, a yogurt parfait consisting of Fiber One vanilla yogurt, 1/2 c. blueberries, and 1/8 c. chopped walnuts. I also like natural peanut butter with an apple, and Fiber One cereal with skim milk.

These make my list too. I also like having dried fruit if I can find it without too much added sugar. I love cranberries, blueberries and pineapple. I also like to eat fruit like pears with a strong cheese like feta or gorgonzola. For something sweet I like to mix part skim ricotta with cocoa powder and a few drops of honey.

Thanks for stopping by everyone!
Oh yea forgot the protein shake, yum. And Lori those are some awesome ideas. Love strong cheeses and that ricotta w/cocoa and honey? Holy yum!
Hubby bought a dehydrator for his b-day and we have been playing around with it. The dried fruits have been interesting but we need to perfect it. Would love one of those Excalibur dehydrators LOL
Megan, I’ll be in touch!

I found a lot of the foods on this list happen to be snacks we often have. I’ve also been enjoying fruit & yogurt smoothies pretty often lately.

That’s a great list! Lately, I’ve been into pumpkin seeds, protein shakes, and those tiny toasts (have you seen those?) with Laughing Cow cheese.

Good for you Loretta! Love me some smoothies, I have them a TON.
Not sure about the tiny toasts but maybe I have seen them. Are they really hard and crunchy? Love the Laughing Cow cheese but never bought it until recently when we found it’s much less expensive at Trader Joe’s than the regular grocery store, go figure LOL

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately! My 2-year-old daughter and I are HUGE snackers. We eat small meals and then we snack throughout the day. I want to be sure we’re eating nutritiously, but I need the snacks to be convenient too…
Lately, I’ve been eating honeyroasted peanuts like crazy! 🙂

Lately I have been a huge snacker too, Stephanie. I have to be cautious and make sure I’m eating healthy snacks. Oh and those honey roasted peanuts are addicting ha ha

Instead of energy bars, I recommend eating dates. They are very sweet and with tons of complex carbs and they also have fiber. Gives you a boost with processed sugar.
sandy says
I meant without processed sugar. It is all natural sugar. Medjool dates are the sweetest.
Angie says
Hi Sandy! I love medjool dates.

Great list Angie. I love string cheese and cottage cheese. Nuts are really hard for me to ‘control’ myself when I eat so I try to avoid them at all costs! lol
