Healthy Snack Ideas for Travel

I’ll be traveling quite a bit in the next few months and I’m making a list of healthy snack ideas.  The first stop is somewhere I go twice a year.  The hotel we are staying at used to have the Restaurants.com coupons available but removed the option.  So needless to say I will be heading to the local grocery store to save some money.  I’m not sure if we can get a 2nd refrigerator in our room so most of the snacks need to be left out.

A few trips will be by plane so I can’t really pack a ton but when we go on one of our driving trips, we’ll pack a cooler with a lot of these items.  I wish it was easier to take food/drink with you on the plane but that is no longer the case.

My List of Healthy Snack Ideas

  • Almonds (or other nuts)
  • String Cheese
  • Hard boiled Eggs
  • Greek Yogurt
  • Oatmeal (quick cooking to make overnight oats)
  • Granola
  • Almond/Peanut Butter
  • Almond milk
  • Water
  • Tea
  • Fruit (bananas, cherries, strawberries, etc.)
  • Bars (energy, granola, etc.)
  • Canned fruit (no sugar)
  • Veggies/hummus
  • Pretzels/whole grain crackers

What would you add to this list of healthy snack ideas for traveling?  AND what do you take to the airport and on the plane when it comes to food?

    I always like packing carrots and seedless grapes on road trips. They’re easy to pack, eat, aren’t messy, and healthy!

    If I don’t have a fridge or cooler, I’ve been packing oatmeal, Larabars and protein bars. If I do have a fridge, I’ll always take greek yogurt!

    Love raw almonds! They don’t get my hands all greasy/messy like cashews or something. I also make homemade trail mix and pack it.

      Oh I love raw almonds too! Trail mix sounds good and homemade is so much healthier than what’s out there today.

    Great snack ideas! For flying I usually go with baby carrots, an apple and trail mix.
