Are you part of any online weight loss support groups?
Just back from a business trip and a group of us hanging out Monday before we left for the airport decided to set a goal to lose a certain amount of weight by the next workshop in February. So there are about 10 of us so far and everyone has set their goals (weight, food, fitness, etc.). PLUS we are all weighing in. Yikes!
So I am here to share my goals and my weight. I need some accountability so I’m putting it out there for all of you (and the world) to see. And hopefully you’ll cheer me on!
Here are my goals for the next 26 weeks (first week of February 2013):
- Lose 30-50 lbs
- Keep a food journal
- Make wise food choices
- Exercise 5-6 days a week (includes 2-3 days of strength/weights/abs)
This will also really help me if Kev and I decide to try for our scuba certifications. We are still in discussions about that so we shall see.
I’m on day 2 of my food journal and it’s driving me crazy already. I’m only writing down what I eat and no numbers like calories, fat, etc. though so I shouldn’t be so annoyed with it.
Anyway…I feel online weight loss support groups are so important. This business group that we started is already in full swing and it’s so motivating to see what everyone’s plans are for the next 26 weeks. It will also be pretty cool to see each other in Feb.
This is only one of the online weight loss support groups I’m part of. I’m in the middle of the Best Body Bootcamp which also has a group for accountability. I am going to try to remember to weigh myself and check in every Wednesday to keep you updated. I personally don’t care for focusing too much on the scale and the actual weight loss number but it will be nice to be lighter in the next 26 weeks and beyond. Need to take measurements and calculate body fat this week too.
My ultimate goal is to lose 114 lbs. I’m currently at 259 and my goal is to weigh anywhere between 145-175. Scary goals but it’s out there now so I would appreciate your support.
I have always struggled with my weight and had real good success a few years ago so I know I can do it and this time make it STICK. I do have an accountability group on my Facebook page so please join us over there and inspire others DAILY with your workouts, weight loss, etc. We would love to have you!

Very cool sounding group for accountability! It’s all about finding what works for you and pushes you towards your goals and/or gives you the tools to help you push towards those goals. PS – You know I’m here for you 100%!

Ooh, I envy your for the accountability group. I know how hard it is to comply with any diet.
I have tried food journaling and can understand why you find it annoying. I do occasionally record my eating online, but I often have trouble sticking to it too.

I’m very excited about the new group. I needed something like this. It’s definitely keeping me on my toes.
As for the food journal, I’m thinking I might just take pictures and keep a running log in Evernote. Might be easier than having to write everything down. I do see myself eating less so I don’t have to write as much ha but I need to make sure I eat the right foods.
