Here we are on week 2 of the Better Healthy Living Challenge. The goal for week 2 is to eat as many healthy meals at home as possible and if you work outside of the home, you have an additional goal to pack your own healthy lunches too.
Meals At Home Challenge:
I have personally found that you don’t only save money by eating meals at home but you choose a lot more healthier options when you plan meals at home. Not to mention you know exactly what’s going in your food and if you are really watching your portions, you have the ability to weigh your food and easily keep track of what you have.
I’m not the best cook in the world but I have found many simple and affordable meal ideas on Pinterest. I would like to start meal planning again and may even venture into weekly meal prep. Do you meal plan or prep?
Having meals together as a family is also a great tradition! If you have to start small and set a goal to eat at least one meal at home, do that. As for cooking, start with something simple. Meals don’t have to be a huge extravagant setting!
So the goal this week is to challenge yourself to make your own meals at home.
Do you eat more meals at home or at restaurants?
This is the Week 2 BHL Challenge post. Be sure to comment before next Monday, June 17th to let us know how you did this week with eating meals at home and taking your meals to work.
You must leave a comment here for the opportunity to be entered into the drawing to win one of the cool prizes we have this month.

I am so proud of all of you taking part in this challenge. You all inspire me!
I remember as a kid we only ever ate at home and Mum would make sure it was pretty balanced and healthy. Nowadays, it seems pretty hectic but we all still eat at home when we can – eating out is reserved for treats.
All our family work away from home now so we all pack up our preferences in the morning before leaving for work. We don’t do junk food!
Certainly its a lot easier to plan and make sure what we eat is healthier at home.
Hi Angie,
Week 1 of this challenge was so exciting. We jogged as a family in the park. My kids really enjoyed the activity. Anyway, I prefer eating at home rather than outside because I can prepare my family’s favorite healthy foods. For the start of Week 2, I already have my recipe listed.
I really prefer eating at home with my kids but I always have a hectic schedule. We always eat at the restaurant near our house. Anyway, this is a great challenge for me since I have to manage my time in order for me to cook food in the house. I really like my kids to eat healthy foods. BTW, I’m a single mom with 2 kids. I might be late for this challenge but I will do this including the activity for the week 1 challenge.
This week I only went out to eat once. The rest of the week I ate at home and I loved it. Not only was I able to control the portion sizes, I knew exactly what I was eating. And the best part it was way cheaper then going out to eat!
