Essential Oils for Weight loss & Healing
I had a fun opportunity to try some essential oils from Puritan’s Pride (they sent me free product to test and I’m an affiliate as well). I received Peppermint and Eucalyptus 100% essential oils plus a plug in diffuser and a bottle of Wonder Oil.
Essential oils serve various purposes. Many of them smell divine (I especially love peppermint), but there’s also a link to certain essential oils that is said to help curb your appetite among other health benefits.
How Do They Work?
Sometimes it’s as easy as opening the bottle of essential oil and taking a quick sniff through each nostril (be careful!). It’s recommended that you do this several times per day. When you sniff an essential oil like peppermint, it’s said to curb your appetite. You could also use essential oils like peppermint for weight loss since they boost your energy levels too. Plus, this essential oil may also help boost your immune system, calm indigestion and increase your circulation.
You can use essentials oils by adding them along with water to a humidifier. You can add the oils to water and submerge a washcloth in them and apply it to your forehead. You may want to try adding a few drops to coconut oil for a soothing massage. That sounds good to me!
Benefits of Aromatherapy
Some essential oils for weight loss include tangerine oil, which might have the potential to tone your skin, regulate your metabolism and reduce the appearance of cellulite. Not to mention, it may reduce anxiety as well. Grapefruit oil may potentially dissolve fat and reduce fluid retention.
Eucalyptus oil isn’t one of the essential oils for weight loss, but it’s definitely a prime example of what the benefits of aromatherapy can do for you. It’s generally applied via a washcloth or dabbed on your forehead, especially to relieve headaches (I did that myself and it seemed to help). Eucalyptus may possibly help to reduce swelling since it increases blood flow. Additionally, it may be useful to reduce muscle pain and inflammation, and help with mental clarity and exhaustion.
Another one of the main benefits of aromatherapy is its ability to relieve stress depending upon which one you use. For instance, lavender has a sweet, floral fragrance that’s used for stress relief. According to the National Institutes of Health’s MedlinePlus, it may be effective at aiding with insomnia. Some people say you can even ingest them. Despite their growing popularity, you should never use them without first consulting your physician.
The benefits of aromatherapy are numerous. Check out this fun post on the Purtian’s Pride blog https://blog.puritan.com/blog/aromatherapy-evoking-powerful-memories
Puritan Pride: Healthy Choices for Healthy Living
Like I mentioned above, Puritan’s Pride sent me a package of goodies for review. Here’s some info about the essential oils they sent me:
Aromappeal® Peppermint 100% Pure Essential Oil
The botanical name of this oil is Mentha Piperita. Few scents are as distinctly tantalizing as the cooling, minty vibrancy of Peppermint. Rub Peppermint Oil onto your temples for a refreshing, rejuvenating lift, or enjoy its traditional uses for circulatory, digestive and nervous system health. Peppermint Oil can be particularly soothing when it’s rubbed all over your body, leaving your skin soft, smooth and clear. Aromappeal® Peppermint Oil is produced using either steam distillation or cold pressing, to assure you of the purest aromatherapy experience.
Aromappeal® Eucalyptus 100% Pure Essential Oil
The botanical name of this oil is Eucalyptus Globulus. Eucalyptus has a powerfully woody, slightly sweet scent that can cultivate your senses and refresh your outlook. Rub Eucalyptus oil onto your temples to rejuvenate your mind, or enjoy its traditional uses for respiratory and nasal health.
They sent a cute little aromatherapy plug in diffuser but I couldn’t use it since all of our outlet plugs are sideways. It would make a great diffuser if it had a universal plug. I did however read some reviews of it getting to hot when plugged in so I actually plugged it in without little cloth that fits inside and left it plugged in for over an hour. No problems whatsoever. Another reason I can’t personally use it is because I have birds and I learned that it’s not good for their respiratory systems.
Here’s a little about their ScentBall plug in diffuser:
Aromatherapy Plug In Diffuser
Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils to enhance the harmony and well-being of body, mind and spirit. The ScentBall is the ideal way to experience the benefits of essential oils in any room of your home. Apply 5 to 10 drops of your favorite essential oil or blend on the reusable pad and insert into the diffuser. Plug in the diffuser and within minutes you will begin to experience the benefits of your chosen oil.
Wonder Oil
The last product I received from them was Wonder Oil (a wonderful fusion of oils, herbs and fruits for the body, this oil includes a medley of Olive, Sunflower Seed, Wheat Germ, Sweet Almond, Sesame and Jojoba Oils and is enriched with the lively citrus scents of grapefruit, lemon and orange. This versatile formula helps replenish moisture in your hair, skin and nails.)
I haven’t had a chance to use this one yet but it’s next on the list.
I had fun trying these essential oils and look forward to using them more. And Puritan’s Pride has a lot more than essential oils. They have vitamins, healthy snacks, organic spices and MUCH more. Here are some of their current deals:
