Do you remember the song Push It by Salt N Pepa? The title just popped in my head so I rolled with it LOL Here are my workouts for this week! I pushed it this week!
I know that I want to boost it up a notch and try to start working out twice a day a few days a week but we’ll see how that goes with this running. I actually accomplished my goal of doing 50 stability ball crunches every day. I’m thinking I want to boost that up to 100 starting next week, we’ll see! So here are my workouts for the week.
Monday-
*Treadmill
Time: 45 min.
Miles: 2.61 (ran 8 intervals, varying times)
Calories burned: 549
*Stability ball crunches
Total: 50
Today’s run was OK. This was my 1st day back running after 3 weeks off so considering that I did OK. I did get overheated a bit and have had some coughing fits but I’ll be fine.
Tuesday-
*Stability ball crunches
Total: 50
Wednesday-
*Treadmill (ran 5 one minute intervals)
Time: 40 min.
Miles: 2.35+
Calories burned: 521
*Stability ball crunches
Total: 50
I was so irritated today! I went to do 10 min. of running before spin class and was one of the first to get in the class BUT there was only one bike left. FOUR people from the class before stayed over in to the next class and caused a few of us to lose bikes. I was luckily able to grab Kev a bike but couldn’t get one for myself so I went back up stairs to run and it was soooo hard to get back into it.
I’m not a big complainer but needless to say I did complain about this and apparently I was not the only one who did so they said they will discuss this issue. Oh and get this, two of the people that stayed over for the 2nd class LEFT EARLY, one 15 min. into the class and the other 30 min. What is up with that?
Thursday-
*Stability ball crunches
Total: 50
Friday-
*Treadmill (ran 5 1/2 one minute intervals)
Time: 30 min.
Miles: 1.57
Calories burned: 347
*Stability ball crunches
Total: 50
Saturday-
*Stability ball crunches
Total: 50
I was thinking about working out this day but as you know my stepdaughter is in town for hospital procedures/surgery so we spent time there and I just didn’t get in a workout.
Sunday-
*Spin class
Time: 1 hr 6 min.
Calories burned: 744
*Stability ball crunches
Total: 50
This week upon talking to my wellness coach who is also a certified personal trainer (I’ll be sharing her info here soon, she’s awesome) we discussed my running and finally I was able to get some feedback on my numbers and how I have been doing. I felt like I was all over the place trying different run interval times, different speeds, etc. and she helped me set a plan that was easier and didn’t make calculating so frustrating for me. Cindy said that for next week, I should stay and focus on doing 1 to 3 where I run 1 minute, walk 3 for about 30-45 minutes and I’ll do this at an incline of .5-1 with a walking speed of 3.0-3.5 and running speed at 4.5-4.7. I feel running a 4.7 is much easier BUT with these shin splints boy nothing feels good ha ha (oh and of course I always do a 5 min. warm up and 5 min. cool down too)
I am going to be more focused on stretching, icing and resting my shins. I really don’t know why at this point I’m still even thinking about running the 1/2 marathon in December because I’m quite uncomfortable at this time even with shin sleeves. BUT I’m praying it gets better!
So overall I think this week was good considering it was my first week back after THREE off with pneumonia. We’ll see how the next week goes. Actually everything is up in the air for the next month with my stepdaughter being in town for medical procedures and surgery but I do have other high intensity training options I can use if I need to miss the gym and get a quick workout in.
