Thanks to Lynn at Traveling Low Carb and Lynn Terry TV, we have a video from one of our hotel fitness center workouts last week. As you know, she challenged me to do some form of exercise every day in February and we discuss a bit about it in the video.
The Marriott Century Center in Atlanta has a nice fitness center but not all of my workouts were done in there. Some were done in the stairwell walking flights of stairs and a bit of strength training in the lobby at 1 AM one morning, oh yes we did.
And boy was I a mess. My legs are ghostly white in the video ICK and look at that messy hair. My oh my!
The one thing I really look forward to when I hit my goal weight or at least get close is shopping for new workout clothes. I won’t be able to wait for sports bras (I need a couple new ones desperately) but I can’t wait to get some pretty tops.
I can’t believe I have been on video a few times this month. But I know it’s important so I would love to keep it up. I’m not so much afraid of being on video, it’s the techy part that gets me all confused. Anyway…
When you travel do you workout in the hotel fitness center?
Dr. Mike Tremba says
Hey, Angie–I think it’s great that you’re keeping up with your workouts! It’s so easy when travelling, to get into the routine of ‘vacation’ with food all around, the temptation to bask in the hotel luxury, and tiredness from seminars (or whatever activity takes you there).
I love the hotel workout facilities myself and depending where I stay, often take a couple of generic workout bands that I use as well.
Keep on keeping on 🙂
Angie says
Mike (is it OK that I just call you Mike?), thanks for the support. It really is easy to get out of routine when you are exhausted from the conference sessions. Just need to push myself even if it is a 10 min. quick workout. I had the band on my packing list but it was the ONE thing I forgot. Next trip!
Dr. Mike Tremba says
Mike works fine, Angie-thanks for asking 🙂
I know how the forgetfulness goes–I think I’ve done it a time or two (or more!) myself.
Glad you found a way to improvise. Talk to you soon!

Great job with your videos Angie! I always love checking out the hotel gyms but like you that’s not all I do.
I always travel with the Valslide and Valband. That way, even if there’s no gym, I still get a workout in.

Valerie, thank you so much for the support! Need to check out the Valslide and band because doing something in the hotel room might be good for those times I’m not feeling it right?

I haven’t travelled/stayed in a hoter for a while, but nowadays I would probably take something with me – like exercise tubing with handes. They weigh next to nothing and don’t take lots of space either.
You kick Lynn’s a** in the video! 🙂
Angie says
I will definitely remember to bring something next time so I can just wake up and workout in the room although now everyone is talking about meeting up in the gym at the next one ha
I’m proud of Lynn for getting up and getting in there with me. It was fun!

It was great to see you and Lynn on the Workout Video, Angie! Very inspiring!
When I was at NAMS a year ago, I didn’t work out for the full 4 days I was there (which is not like me – I usually do something 5 days a week – Aquafit is my favorite.
Anyway, I had hoped to be in Atlanta with you all this month, but it didn’t work out.
I will definitely work out with the 2 of you if I get to the next one.
Thanks for sharing your video!
Diana
Angie says
Thanks Diana! I only worked out the whole time because I have a challenge this month to do something every day. But I think I’m going to stick with it.
Missed you in Atlanta, will hope to see you at NAMS soon.
