The big question on a lot of people’s minds when I tell them how much I LOVE this type of workout is does mini trampoline rebounder exercise really work?
That all depends on what your personal goal is with it. It’s absolutely one of my favorite workouts. I have had leg issues for a while and it’s one of the best workouts for me for that situation. I spend at least 15 minutes a day on the mini trampoline and feel amazing every time I finish.
The mini trampoline also known as a rebounder has a ton of health benefits like:
- lymphatic circulation
- it is said to be one of the best ways to rid your lymph of toxins
- helps the immune and digestive systems
- speeds up your metabolism
You can read a comprehensive list of mini trampoline/rebounding health benefits here. I don’t promote the product they offer but this list is great. You will be amazed at all the benefits.
Tony Robbins once said, “Rebounding strengthens every organ in the body. Please take the time to pursue this life-enhancing form of exercise.”
Can you lose weight by jumping on a mini trampoline/rebounder?
You get a total body workout when you use a rebounder! Everything from aerobic/cardio, toning and more. You can lose weight and inches with hardly any stress on your joints. This is my experience of course so make sure to check with your physician before starting any new workout program.
Does trampolining burn calories?
Absolutely. The amount of calories burned depends on how hard you push yourself each day. A NASA study said you could burn more calories in 10 minutes of rebounding than in 30 minutes of running. Too bad I can’t get the link to work for that study, sorry.
Here’s a beginner rebounding workout that you could get started with…
How long should you spend on rebounder exercise?
Remember I’m no doctor but I think you should spend as much time on rebounder exercises as you can. I personally do at least 15 minutes a day right now and I break a sweat. I would consider what I do medium intensity. I don’t do the soft bounce except for warming up and cooling down, about a minute each. The cool thing is you can choose your intensity. And if you want to do 10 minutes in the morning and 10 in the afternoon, you can. So easy to modify and fit your lifestyle.
How many times a week should I workout on the rebounder?
My personal goal is to get on the rebounder for at least 15 minutes every day. Going to be sad that I don’t have one with me when we travel but we still try to get movement while away from home.
Is it safe to use an exercise rebounder/mini trampoline?
It’s a low impact workout and great calorie burner too. If you’re balance is not the greatest, you’ll definitely want to look into getting one with a stabilizer bar. These bars are also great to use with other workouts as well. If you have any health issues you’ll want to reach out to your doctor for his/her opinion.
How much weight does a mini trampoline hold?
This was my top question and what led me down the research rabbit hole for the best rebounder for me. At the time I was over 300 lbs so I wanted to make sure I found one that was solid enough for my weight. There are not a lot of options for those who are overweight like me. BUT fear not my plus size peeps, most everyone can find one that will work for them. I have included my top choice that fits our size perfectly as you’ll see further down in this post.
Most regular mini trampolines that you would find online hold about 150 lbs. So these are OK for most people if they only want to bounce a little. And they even have mini trampolines for kids. Yay! We bought this one for our youngest granddaughter. It’s great. But if you are looking for a really good workout, I would highly recommend you get a solid rebounder (again see my recommendation below).
Do you wear shoes or bare feet when exercising on a mini trampoline?
We have heard it’s best to workout on the mini trampoline/rebounder with bare feet or fitness grip socks. I used to jump on my old trampolines with walking shoes on but no longer do that.
- Newest Design: Stylish design on the instep and anti-skid socks with grippers on the bottom, providing an absolutely effective anti-slip effect, perfect as Yoga socks, Pilates socks, Barre sock, Bikram socks, Ballet sock, Fitness socks, etc.

How do you keep a mini trampoline clean?
It’s simple to keep a mini trampoline/rebounder clean. Use a damp cloth to wipe it down often. From Bellicon (the mini trampoline I have), “bellicon’s mats can only be cleaned with a damp wash cloth or with suitable disinfectant wipes (that do not have bleach). It is not recommended to use any form of detergent or cleaning spray. The use of these can damage the mat / bungees / bellicon frame.”
Indoor mini trampolines/rebounders are really popular because most fit in any space, you get a great workout and they are really fun to use. You can turn your workout into an amazingly fun activity by jumping on an indoor trampoline. Yay!
What mini trampoline/rebounder do you recommend?
Over the years, I have used rebounders with metal springs and none of them lasted more than 3-4 years. The last trampoline I had was the Urban Rebounder mini trampoline and one of the springs broke which led me to start researching for something different.
The best mini trampoline rebounder in my opinion is by Bellicon. I did thorough research before we made this investment in my health. You will read differing opinions out there on which is the best brand to buy but we went to the source, the Chicago Bellicon showroom to test it out for ourselves. It was awesome!
I went in there knowing exactly what I wanted (Merry Christmas to me!). They were quite impressed that I knew so much about the bellicon rebounders but like I said, I did a lot of research but wanted to try it out before making a big investment. Hubby even told them he’s impressed with how good I am at rebounding. That was nice to hear. I do love this workout.
We bought a bellicon rebounder on the spot!
They took us on a tour of their Chicago Bellicon Studio too. If we lived close, I would definitely take a few classes every week even though I love that I can get an amazing workout at home.
Here’s a quick mini trampoline comparison video for you to watch.

And the science and effects of rebounding, by Bellicon.
How much does the Bellicon mini trampoline rebounder cost?
The cost of the Bellicon rebounder depends on the model, size and leg type. You also get to choose your bungee colors and bungee strength plus mat color. We chose the bellicon Plus, 44″ green mat, rainbow bungee, ultra strength. You can read more about which bungee strength to choose plus see their models here. Once our order was finalized it was sent off to Germany to be made and it arrived to our doorstep in less than a week. Color me impressed. If you have any questions on anything mini trampoline/rebounder or questions about bellicon please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m happy to help!

Not in the Durban area but you can order and have it shipped directly to you. Here’s my referral link: https://hergrandlife.com/rebounder I have been on mine every day since January 1st. It’s so awesome.
Dianna says
Thank you for your write up. I recently bought a mini trampoline with springs and it seems very stiff – is this normal? Is the bellicon still your favorite after you have used it a few months?
Angie says
Hi Dianna! Oh yea the mini trampolines with springs are stiff. Not my favorite but I did start out with a spring one for many years. The Bellicon is absolutely my favorite (I have now been using it almost a year) but I do like JumpSport too. I got one of theirs for upstairs a few months ago but it’s much smaller. So two totally different feels. I’ll probably write a post about them soon. Let me know if you have more questions.

Hi Amy! That is so awesome to hear. I love rebounding and Bellicon rocks. I have made it a goal to try and use mine every day even if it’s just 5 minutes. So good. Oh a hexagon one sounds cool.
